Example

Return the current database system date and time:

GETDATE();


Definition and Usage

The GETDATE() function returns the current database system date and time, in a
‘YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.mmm’ format.


Tip:

Also look at the
CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
function.
